Ambassador Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas

Born September 27, 1960 in Nko Cross River State, Nigeria, Ambassador Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas is a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy and has attended other notable Institutions both home and abroad and he is highly decorated.
Until his appointment as the Nigerian High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana, Ambassador Ibas was Vice Admiral, and Chief of Naval Staff of the Nigerian Navy. He joined the Nigerian Military in June, 1979 and was commissioned as an officer in 1983. He had close to 42 years unbroken career in the Nigerian Military where he served in different capacities until retirement in January, 2021. He is a fellow and member of many professional bodies including the Certified Institute of Shipping, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), International Institute of Professional Security, Member, US Naval Institute, etc.
Ambassador Ibas is widely travelled, enjoys reading, watching documentaries and playing golf.
He is happily married to Barr. Mrs. Theresa Ibas and they are blessed with Children and a Grandchild.
